Still on the Matildas and striker Lisa De Vanna has been given the boot from the world cup squad.
The 26-year-old was due to play with the green and gold in a friendly against New Zealand today.
But Football Federation Australia claims De Vanna has breached an unspecified code of conduct and will no longer join the team in Germany.
It’s a blow for the Aussie side, as De Vanna was renowned for scoring goals straight off the bench and was even given the nickname the “super-substitute”.
In a statement coach Tom Sermanni said “Lisa couldn’t adhere to some of the team’s non-negotiable behaviour parameters.”
