About 6.15pm last night, a 38-year-old woman entered her house on Gulliver Street, Hamilton.
Once inside the house, the woman was allegedly approached by an unknown man and was assaulted and threatened with a knife.
Cash was allegedly taken from the woman’s handbag before the intruder fled the scene.
The woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment of a small laceration to her neck.
The intruder is described as being aged 20 or 30 and was wearing black gloves.
