COUNCILS URGED TO PREPARE FOR THE NATIONAL BROADBAND NETWORK
North Coast councils are being urged to pull together in preparation for the National Broadband Network.
Expert speakers from Regional Development Australia held a seminar today, encouraging councils to become more involved in improving local internet access.
“Increasing our access to broadband has improvements across health, education and within business.”
Councils were advised to begin planning and research as soon as possible so infrastructure and approvals are up to speed by the time access to the broadband network becomes available.
It is expected to take nine and a half years for roll out to be completed across Australia.
