The LNP government is embroiled in another accusation of nepotism.
The former head of the Department of Education, Julie Grantham, is accused of securing jobs for her husband, son, and family friend at the Runaway Bay Sports Centre – which is owned by the Education Department.
The Crime and Misconduct Commission is reportedly investigating, but neither the CMC, the Minister’s office, or the centre would confirm or deny the claim.
“I have no comment on the matter, suffice to say we’ll support any investigation that’s being undertaken – if it is being undertaken by the CMC.”
The scandal follows calls for Arts Minister Ros Bates to be stood down over her son’s high-paid job with the Department of Transport.
