RESIDENTS OF THE ENTRANCE UP IN ARMS OVER DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION

More than 100 residents of The Entrance held a public meeting this morning to discuss their opposition of a proposed affordable housing unit complex on Wilfred Barrett Drive.
“It is not about social housing per se, it is about the location, no jobs, no transport, very limited future.”
Lodged by developer Selex, the application is for a two story building consisting of 53 units.
Wyong Shire Council is taking public submissions on the proposal until the 13th of June.
We are the Architects for this project. There seems to be a misconception about this application and the Affordable SEPP. The threshhold for couples to benefit from living in the Affordable housing units is $110,000 per couple!
It’s not Housing NSW nor is it Housing Commission.
The very reason that the residents are complaining about being no jobs etc..,, is the very reason that affordable housing is required.
Sad to see the community so ilinformed !
