SOLID SCHOOLING

St Philip’s Christian College is laying down strong educational foundations in Cessnock.
Ground has been broken at Nulkaba for a new purpose built college on a 50-hectare site.

The college started out six years ago with a school population of just 25 students, that’s now grown to more than 350.

Meanwhile in Newcastle Saint Francis Xavier College has opened a special needs learning unit catering for up to 100 students.

Veronica McLoughlin, the school’s Learning Centre Co-ordinator says

” It’s to assist any kids who need support at school. So it’s kids with disabilities, right through to learning difficulty kids, anyone who just needs a bit more support to try to cope with their seven terms here.”
