A teenage boy has been charged under Skye’s Law following an alleged police chase in Byron Bay last night.
The teenager allegedly failed to stop for a random breath test on Shirley Street just after 7pm, sparking a police pursuit through the town.
Police say the 15-year-old reached speeds of up to 90 kilometres an hour in a 50 zone, before running through a red light.
The boy then fled on foot, leaving the car in an embankment on Brooke Drive.
He was later arrested and charged with several offences.
