POWERLINE UPGRADE FROM LISMORE TO MULLUMBIMBY
Energy supply between Lismore and Mullumbimby is set to become more reliable with a $70 million upgrade currently underway.
It includes an expansion of the Ballina zone sub-station and the construction of a new one at Suffolk Park.
Power poles and insulators will also be upgraded to handle the increase from 66,000 volts to 132,000.
“It will mean a lot less losses on the network and that’s good for the environment quite a saving in greenhouse gasses, as I said that improvement in reliability”
Stage one is the installation of powerlines between Mullumbimby and Ewingsdale. (U-INGS-DALE)
The entire project is expected to take 12 months.
