Newcastle police are hunting a trio of men who stabbed and tried to rob a 38-year-old woman in Lambton last night.
The woman was walking her dog along Croudace Street at around 10.30, when the men demanded her money, before punching and kicking her.
She then tried to walk home and was again set upon at nearby Charlton Street, where one of the men slashed her arm and hand with a knife.
The men fled, while the woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
Police are yet to get descriptions of the men.
