FIERY CRASH CLOSES PACIFIC HIGHWAY AT MACKSVILLE

At least one person has been killed in a fiery crash between a truck and a car which has blocked the Pacific Highway on the NSW mid-north coast.
A 200 metre exclusion zone has been set up around where the car and B-double truck collided at Warrell Creek, about 10km south of Macksville, just before 4am.
The truck, which was carrying chemicals, exploded in flames on impact, but Fire and Rescue NSW has since extinguished the blaze.
One person from the car has been confirmed dead, but police say it’s not clear how many people were in the car when it crashed.
The male truck driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries and taken to Macksville Hospital for observation.
The Pacific Highway is closed in both directions, with most traffic diverted onto local roads, but B-double trucks cannot use the alternative routes and are having to park until the highway has been cleared.
