Sitting member Andrew Fraser was busy campaigning at the Showgrounds, in a last-minute bid to secure support.
Mr Fraser confidently cast his vote, with opinon polls predicting he’ll take a comfortable win for the National Party.
And at Glenreagh, in the seat of Clarence, residents also soaked up the election day sunshine.
Nationals MP Steve Cansdell is tipped to be returned, as is party leader Andrew Stoner in the Oxley electorate.
