Talks have resumed between the Tinkler Group and the Newcastle Knights, nib Chief Executive Officer, Mark Fitzgibbon who has stepped into the negotiations as a mediator says.
“It’s a fantastic outcome for the club, fans, community and rugby league in general,” Mr Fitzgibbon said.
“Hopefully the Knights Board have something they can now take to members with complete confidence.
“Full credit belongs to Nathan Tinkler, his team and Rob Tew and the Knights Board for eventually agreeing to a deal. I’m pleased I was able to have a 11th hour role in helping both parties overcome some obstacles and misunderstandings. This new model will surely make the Knights the powerhouse we all know it should always be,” he added.
At this stage, Mr Fitzgibbon will not be making any further statements regarding the discussions between the two parties.
