A 25-year-old Maitland man is set to be sentenced over the aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Peter Kevin Smith has also pleaded guilty to causing wounding and grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, over the attack at the Jesmond shopping centre last October.
In addition, he’s pleaded guilty to robbery armed with an offensive weapon, after stealing a car from a woman at Maitland the same day.
He remains in custody and is due to face Newcastle District Court next Thursday.
