Police are warning parents to be vigilant after a child was approached on the way home from school in Kariong yesterday.
The 11-year-old girl was walking along Conroy Avenue at around 3pm when police say she was offered a lift from a woman in a white van.
The girl refused and after noticing the woman was following her hid behind trees.
The woman is described as Caucasian, about 35 to 40 years old with a medium build.
She was wearing a reddish maroon singlet top and dark blue denim shorts.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
