POLICE HUNTING FOUR MEN FOLLOWING VICIOUS NEWCASTLE HOME INVASION

Police are hunting a group of men after two people were assaulted during a home invasion in Newcastle overnight.

The victims were in a unit at Hamilton South at around eight o’clock when they answered a knock at the door.

Four men entered the premises and threatened them with a gun before assaulting them.

Police say the attackers demanded cash and drugs but left empty handed.

A 29-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering facial injuries, while a 30-year-old man had swelling to his face.
