A teenager has died and another is in a serious condition in hospital after a horror smash at Broken Head on the New South Wales far north coast.
Police say the pair, from Armidale, was travelling north on Broken Head Road when their car veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a Mitsubishi Magna.
The 19-year-old female passenger suffered critical injuries and died at Tweed Hospital, while the 18-year-old male driver is in a critical condition at Gold Coast Hospital.
The 42-year-old driver of the other car suffered leg and chest injuries and is in a stable condition.
