Ratepayers in the Hunter will start receiving a refund in March, as a result of the Tillegra Dam project being scrapped.
Minister for Water Phil Costa announced details of the refund today, saying the majority of households will receive around $36.
Water service fees will also be reduced in the next two financial years to remove a dam charge.
The refund amount has been calculated by IPART and will be automatically credited to customers’ bills.
