YAMBA SURF CLUB FIRE

A fire has caused in excess of $100,000 in damage to one of the north coast’s oldest surf clubs.
These photos posted on twitter by local man Mathew Kelly show black smoke billowing from Yamba’s iconic club house.
Rescue equipment including surf skis and three IRBs were destroyed in the blaze.
Fortunately there was little structural damage to the heritage listed building, which is one of the oldest surf clubs in Australia.
Fire investigators are yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
