Local families and carers of people with mental illness have met with Federal Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, Mark Butler, at a community forum in Lismore.
The group talked for almost five hours about mental health issues – an opportunity to have input into the government’s new reforms.
“There was specific proposals put to the minister particularly about workplace issues and more mental health nurses and career paths”
Janelle Saffin says many proposals will be followed up in the coming weeks.
