Newcastle’s former post office is closer to becoming more than just a derelict building, with the state government calling for expressions of interest from the private sector.
The request for proposals is accompanied by a scoping study, suggesting possible uses for the site.
They include a mix of restaurants, office space, function rooms, retail and exhibition space.
Proponents have been given until January 11 to submit ideas.
An evaluation panel will review the proposals and compile a short list.
