Almost 200 people are attending a new camp for indigenous people at Kariong this weekend.
The Cultural Affirmations family program aims to teach the groups about Aboriginal culture.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service provided $40,000 to the Aboriginal Co Management Committee to help create the program.
It involves families from Sydney, the Central Coast and Hunter Region, and runs until tomorrow.
