BRIDGE WORKING FINE
The Swansea Bridge has enjoyed one of its better years, with the once-troubled crossing not breaking down at all in 2010.
The state government spent just over $1-million in 12 months to keep the twin spans in working order.
The year before, it cost taxpayers $3.25-million.
But Swansea MP Robert Coombs admits the northbound span’s expiry date is approaching.
“I would think that in the next 10 years there would have to be some sort of determination about and we’d start start the process of what a new crossing would look like.”
