KNIGHTS IN A FIGHT TO RE-SIGN CHRIS HOUSTON

The Knights say they’re still incredibly keen to re-sign Chris Houston, but now admit he could be lured to another club by a more lucrative contract.
Houston was cleared of drugs charges last week, but the long court battle left him facing a hefty legal bill.
The Knights want to secure the forward on a three-year contract using the remaining money they have under the salary cap.
Meanwhile the current Knights squad wrapped-up a three day camp in Tamworth with a full contact session.
Coach Rick Stone is looking for more toughness from his squad, with the side on the road for six of its first eight games.
And in other contract news, it now seems likely Kurt Gidley won’t announce an extension to his current deal until 2011.
“No news on that at the moment, as I say I’m still here for next year and looking to extend that for a few more years yet.”
