They may not have the same skills as the juniors competing at Phillip Island’s national junior surfing titles, but that wasn’t a problem at today’s Girls Go Surfing event at Bonny Hills.
Choppy on-shore conditions at Rainbow Beach made it tough going for many of the first-timers, but no one seemed to be complaining.
Girls Go Surfing days are staged at 60 locations across the country to promote the sport.
The popularity of the program has prompted Port Macquarie Surf School to schedule more sessions at Flynns Beach next weekend.
