Detectives who investigated former Newcastle Knight Chris Houston have been cross-examined in court.
During today’s preliminary hearing, Houston’s barrister Simon Harben questioned two officers who eventually charged Houston with supplying drugs.
One of the detectives said the accused became a person of interest in August 2009, while police were monitoring phone conversations with fellow Knight, Danny Wicks.
Houston’s yet to enter a plea.
The hearing continues.
