The ALP won’t stick to a plan for a return to rank and file pre-selection for the state election.
The National Executive will determine who’ll run in two seats, including Jodi McKay’s Newcastle electorate.
Cr Tim Crakanthorp, who was widely tipped to challenge Ms McKay, says he’s disappointed the membership won’t get a say.
“That is a decision that is entirely of the party. It is not a decision I have entered into. I have always said that I’d be prepared to face a rank and file preselection.”
