A 78-year-old man is in a serious condition in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital after a four-wheel-drive crashed and rolled near Gloucester.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew paramedics to the scene at Rookhurst, on Thunderbolts Way, just after midday.
The vehicle is thought to have rolled several times down an embankment after leaving the road.
The man, who was a passenger in the car, suffered serious head injuries.
The driver escaped with minor injuries.
