“GAME OVER” FOR OWEN AND CORNWELL

After a rough and tumble week at the ICAC in which both stood aside from the New South Wales Liberal Party, Andrew Cornwell and Tim Owen were due to catch up for a game of squash this weekend.
The embattled politicians were going to pick up a racket on Saturday, and play an exhibition game prior to the Newcastle Open, a tournament for semi-professional players, at the redeveloped Cardiff Sports Centre.
Ryan Croxford, who’s helping promote the tournament told NBN News the Member for Newcastle won’t make it.
“Tim won’t be playing, he has a sore back.” said Ryan.
Tim Owen will however be centre court at the ICAC on Monday, when it continues its probe into how the 2011 election campaigns of both MPs were funded.
Mr Croxford said Andrew Cornwell was still due to hit the court on Saturday. The person hoping to unseat Mr Cornwell in the 2015 election, Lake Macquarie Mayor Jodie Harrison, will also be there.
