SWISS NATIONALS KILLED IN HUNTER HEAD ON

The Swiss consulate is assisting in identifying two swiss nationals who were killed when their campervan was involved in a head-on crash with a Holden Commodore on John Renhaw Drive near Buchanan yesterday.

The impact forced the van off the road and down an embankment where it caught fire. Despite suffering multiple injuries a 50 year old man from Thailand scrambled out of the van before it was enveloped. He’s in a serious but stable condition in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.

The dead couple were aged 59 and 61.

In a seperate crash a 61 year old Milbrodale man died when his vehicle left Wollombi Road near Broke and hit a tree.
