TOUGH WEEKEND FOR RUSSELL AT THE AUSTRALIAN KART CHAMPIONSHIPS

Things didn’t go according to plan for several high profile drivers, at round one of the Australian Kart Championship today.
18-time national champion David Sera finished eighth in the X30 class, while V8 Supercar driver Aaren Russell started at the back of the field.
He did his best to weave through the pack, but midway through the race he was forced to retire early with mechanical issues, leaving Marc Tulloch to lead from start to finish.
In the Cadet 12 division, Wagga Wagga’s Rhys Smith made the junior class his own.
