Disaster was narrowly avoided at Singleton last night, after a petrol tanker nearly crashed on the New England Highway.
Three men threw lemons at the vehicle, which shattered the tanker’s windscreen, shocking the 53-year-old driver and causing him to skid to a stop.
Two 18-year-olds have been charged, while a third remains on the run.
