All my life, the figs have existed. 80 years!! I have never heard of anyone in that time that has been injured by one of these figs…in any way shape or form. I have though, seen the City of Newcastle neglected, ignored and left to rot. I have seen it’s councillors turn their back on their city and it’s people. It’s not trees that need clearing out…it’s our local council that needs sorting!
Why are Council rushing thru this tree removal before all the proper avenues are investigated? there is no plan ready, no new trees ready, no one really wants a bloody row of Figs down the middle of the rd & its Spring for goodness sake. Bugger off council ur just a bunch of temporary trustees who wont be re elected after this!
so now newcastle council are using a nsw rd act 1993 to claim legality to destroy the communities trees. But is Laman st a registered rd?
theres more chance half the buildings in newcastle, due to neglect, are likely to fall on my head than the Laman st. figs ! If residents wanted them gone they’d have asked.
