SUNS BOW OUT OF STATE LEAGUE BASKETBALL

Coffs Harbour’s men’s side has gone down to Queanbeyan by 15 points, in the semi finals of the State League Basketball played today in Newcastle.

The Suns were in the game until half time, trailing by four.

After the break, Queanbeyan piled on some quick points to stretch its lead by another 12.

Captain/coach and former NBL player, Matt Shanahan, top scored for the Suns with 24-points, second best was Robert Linton with 19.

Despite today’s loss it’s been a remarkable year for the Coffs side who finished last in 2009.
