PRELIMINARY REPORT INTO TOXIC CHEMICAL SCARE

A report into a toxic chemical scare at Pacific Highway works near Port Macquarie, has found that material buried following a 1980 crash had been removed.

Seven workers were treated for suspected chemical poisoning in late March, after experiencing nausea and vomiting.

According to an independent report by former National Parks director, Brian Gilligan, buried waste material was removed prior to the start of the upgrade.

It concludes the source of the scare was almost certainly chemical remnants trapped in clay.

The report also confirms no radioactive material was buried.

  1. all reports say that all workers affected now have a clean bill of health. i can assure you that these statements are false. i speak of james, the worst affected. he is covered in painful sores that he was told were chloracne. he hasn’t slept in bed with his young wife since it happened. can’t wear most clothes. his ex has stopped visits with his daughter due to his condition. he is losing control of his temper daily. he fears that he is losing his mind. as well as the way he has been treated there is the dioxin poisoning which is known to directly cause these same mental probs.it is obvious after a few min talking with him that he is in dire need of help both physically and psycologically. who can he see for help. all da gov departments involved, and there are a few, are only interested in distancing themselves from it. i fear he may not have strength to see this through without some sort of acknowledgement from one of them.
