There was a lot of damage but incredibly no injuries when a small sedan and a fully laden car carrier collided on the Pacific Highway north of Newcastle.
Police say a northbound Subaru sedan, changed lanes into the path of a semi heading in same direction at Twelve Mile Creek, south of Karuah.
The contact sent both vehicles careering across the median strip, the semi jack- knifing, with its load of new cars crashing onto the southbound lanes of the highway.
The prime mover and the Subaru came to rest in a ditch beside the road.
