Work begins this one on a major upgrade of Newcastle’s coastal precinct between Nobbys Beach and Newcastle baths. The project will see the extension of Bathers Way to a new four metre wide pathway. Traffic along Shortland Esplanade, will be permanently changed to one way (Southbound), allowing room for a dedicated on-road cycle path. The project will include improvements to drainage infrastructure, parking, viewing platforms, as well as picnic areas and landscaping.
The project is scheduled to be complete by March 2015.
