More than one million Australian reservists who have served our nation overseas were recognised during Reserve Forces Day.
In Newcastle, a ceremony was held at Civic Park, with the Australian Army Band saluting the reservists.
Reserve Forces Day was first held in 1988 to recognise those who have served part time since 1948.
