CAMPAIGNER AQUITTED OF TWO CHARGES

Newcastle based environmental campaigner Warrick Jordan has been aquitted of two charges of trespass, after appearing at Tamworth local court yesterday.
A third charge of “failure to obey direction” was withdrawn.
However, he was fined $550 for climbing a gas rig in the Pilliga Forest last year, to protest against Coal Seam Gas Mining.
Mr Jordan says he will continue to take part in peaceful protests.
