GIRL TRAMPLED BY HORSE

Doctors say a 17-year-old Clarencetown girl is doing well in hospital, after being crushed by her horse in a showjumping event.

Tara Sheridan fell from her mount which then landed on top of her at the Bicentennial Park Equestrian Centre in Sydney yesterday afternoon.

She was flown to Liverpool Hospital in a medically induced coma, but her condition has improved from critical to stable.

  1. the report on my daughters accident at Camden CIC on May 23 is totally incorrect.

The accident happened on the cross country and her horse left a leg behind they both fell. Although he did land on her he got off her in seconds. yes she was unconcious and was placed in a controlled coma by the doctors and paramedics on sight at the time to ensure that should she come too and try to struggle that she would not cause any damaged to her head or neck before the liverpool hospital emergency nuro surgen could confirm that there was no damage to her. Luckly with the safety requirements of the australian and world equestrian bodies she came out of it with a broken collar bone and a few bruses. Her horse was also taken care of by the vet on course and the family of the eventing world and he has come out of it unhurt. Tara had earlier in the day won the PN on her other horse and is looking forward to returning to the sport later this year. Tara is place in the top 25 riders of australian eventing at the age of 17.

We would like to thank all those involved in help us at the time of the accident and all the well wishers.
