SECOND BLAZE IN 4 MONTHS AT MAYFIELD WEST FACTORY

A recycling factory in Mayfield West has suffered extensive damage as a result of a fire overnight.
The fire broke out in Benedict Recycling’s main shed, just before 9pm.
Fire & Rescue crews were eventually able to extinguish the blaze on McIntosh Drive, but the building received extensive damage.
No one was inside at the time, and police are on scene this morning trying to determine what sparked the fire.
The company says yesterday’s extreme temperatures caused the blaze.
It follows a fire at the same business back in September, where emergency services responded to a pile of smouldering material.
