AUTHOR INSPIRES BUDDING WRITERS

An Australian author, who co-wrote a series of children’s books with football legend Johnny Warren, visited Port Macquarie today.

Deborah Abela shared some stories from the popular Jasper Zammit series with senior students at St Agnes Primary School.

She admitted to knowing nothing about the game of soccer when she was approached to write the books, but that soon changed when she met the former Socceroo captain.

The series is dedicated to Johnny Warren who died in 2004.

During her visit, the award-winning author also conducted writing workshops for teachers.
