To rugby union and Central North and New England are hoping for a rematch of last year’s decider in the Richardson Shield this weekend in Newcastle.
Both teams are now playing in the second tier of the competition, after suffering losses in the Country Championships at the weekend.
But they’re still a win away from the final, with Central North to face Western Plains and New England up against the Far North Coast on Saturday.
