KOALA CAMPAIGN CONTINUES
The public backlash against the removal of eight koalas from a wildlife park in Gunnedah continues to gather momentum.
The RSPCA took the animals from Gunnedah’s Waterways Wildlife Park in February, but hasn’t confirmed why and hasn’t placed charges against the owners.
The Gunnedah community has now organised a rally calling for an independent inquiry into the powers of the RSPCA, and the handling of this case.
And they’ve got some high profile support, former Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson, who will chair the rally on April 10.
The protest has been organised for the week after the RSPCA is due to relinquish the koalas.
