The transformation of the Coffs Creek Walk into a shared pedestrian and cycleway will begin at the end of this month.
The upgrade of the nine-kilometre route around the creek will cost $2-million.
The project was the brainchild of Coffs Harbour philanthropists Barbara Hogbin and her late husband Allen, who donated half of the funding.
The federal government matched their donation last November.
The popular pathway links the CBD with the Botanic Gardens, Jetty Beach and Park Beach.
