According to crime statistics, 57 per cent of all Australian women will at some point be victims of violence.
To help raise awareness, and mark International Women’s Day, the Walking in My Shoes photography exhibition was launched at Wallsend today.
Initiated by women’s outreach service, Carrie’s Place, the display features 11 women who are survivors of domestic violence.
The women were joined today by guest speaker Donna Carson, a survivor and advocate for victims of crime.
