A man aged in his 40s was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, after two cars collided on the Bucketts Way near Karuah.
The road was closed after the crash between a ute and a sedan, on a sweeping bend near the Pacific Highway intersection.
Emergency services were called in, with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter landing in a paddock.
One of the drivers was flown to hospital suffering multiple injuries, the other was treated at the scene.
