  1. what a crazy idea by the State Govt! How would Anna Bligh like 1200 students living in her backyard? Put the lid on this one quick and save our suburbs from ‘progress’. This sounds more like a slum in the making and it will make Benowa Rd a nightmare. I’m sure it will also be highly unslightly. Give it 10 years (maybe even 5) and it will probably look like an over-crowded slum, right in the middle of a residential area. The Gold Coast is such a naturally beautiful area and so much ugliness in way of development keeps rising up. when is it going to stop. Tourists aren’t going to keep coming if we keep building ugly developments (look at what they have done to the old Sundale site – an absolute travesty). Also, we don’t have the infrastructure (ie roads and public transport system) to support these hair-brained ideas!
