The Asthma foundation is advising people with the condition to brace themselves for a rough few days.
The foundation says, scorching temperatures and the increased risk of bushfires and dust storms, could trigger attacks.
Asthmatics are being advised to stay indoors and make sure they have medication with them at all times.
