The Central Coast’s fitness buffs didn’t hold back as gym doors reopened this morning.
Planet Fitness in Tuggerah among those trading for the first time since March 23.
Though some machines were switched off to accommodate physical distancing – only 100 of its 6,000 members are allowed in, at any one time.
Staff say membership numbers grew today, as people look to sweat off the isolation blues.
“It’s when our team members are on the floor cleaning equipment that they’re giving somebody a wave or a friendly smile,” Regional Manager, Jo Orson said.
“And just that interaction sometimes could be the only smile they get for the day, or the only hello or goodbye.”
Meanwhile, council’s leisure centres are gradually reopening over the coming days.
