TAMWORTH NURSES CONTINUE FIGHT FOR MORE STAFF IN ED

The fight for additional nurses in Tamworth Hospital’s emergency department continued today.
The local health district’s board paid a visit to the hospital, but wouldn’t meet with the Nurses and Midwives’ Association to discuss its concerns.
“The local health district chief executive officer has declined on behalf of the board to meet with these clinicians instead they’ve selected other clinicians that they’ll be talking to.”
Sending a strong message, members laid down on the ground in protest.
“We call upon the Minister Jillian Skinner to understand that her board, her local health district board in the Hunter New England has failed these nurses and it’s time for the ministry and the minister to intervene.”
